synopsis: When Callie receives a mysterious letter from an estate lawyer in Virginia, her over-worked best friend, Malory, reluctantly agrees to a weekend trip south to help Callie settle the will of her estranged great uncle.
However, when the girls arrive to find the will already settled, the house potentially haunted, and Callie’s “inheritance” to be nothing more than a six-year old postcard written in a language no one recognizes... the search for answers begins.
On a spontaneous cross-country trip across the America-less-traveled, with nothing but a postmark and a 2006 paper atlas to guide them, Callie and Malory soon discover that no modern spirit quest is complete without a keg party, a car chase, and a raccoon barbecue in the bayou. And that Callie’s father was much more notorious than they ever could have imagined....
In a peyote-laced love letter to uncharted territories, HERE BE DRAGONS, is a hilarious and heart-breaking tribute to saying “no” to an occupation, and “yes” to a calling, and to anyone who ever had to get a little lost in order to find their way.
